Organized by the FIBA Foundation, the FIBA Photo Contest marks its 10th edition in 2026 with an exciting new format: for the first time it introduces three dedicated categories — Elite Basketball (top leagues and international championships), Community Basketball (streets, playgrounds, schools, local courts and Basketball For Good initiatives) and Vintage Basketball (archival images through to the early 2000s) — capturing the game, its people, its history and its global impact from multiple perspectives. The contest is open to professional and amateur photographers worldwide and is free to enter, running from September 30 to December 4, 2026. Each category winner receives photography equipment worth CHF 2,000, a FIBA social media feature and inclusion in the annual FIBA Photo Book; the overall winner — the FIBA Shot of the Year — also earns a five-day photographer experience at the FIBA Basketball World Cup Qatar 2027.
