Founded in 1955, the Red Dot Award: Product Design is one of the world's most prestigious and authoritative international design competitions. Guided by the principle of "pursuing good design and innovation," manufacturers and designers from around the world submit outstanding products across 52 categories; the Red Dot jury evaluates every entry on its design quality, and only products that convince the jury with exceptional design receive the Red Dot. Entrants apply online in English via red-dot.org, submitting product photos (3–10 JPEGs), videos, PDF presentations, and an English description (up to 1,200 characters); oversized equipment or machinery that is difficult to transport may be represented by images instead of physical products. Physical products for judging must be shipped to the Red Dot Judging Hall in Mülheim, Germany, in February 2027 and can be retrieved in April after judging.
