Core Introduction 

The Ceramics of Italy International Tile Competition is one of the most prestigious global competitions celebrating outstanding architecture and design projects featuring Italian ceramic and porcelain tile. For 2026, the competition has united two long-standing programs for the first time: the 30-year North American Design Competition and the 11-year La Ceramica e il Progetto based in Italy, creating a unified international platform to honor the best projects worldwide. The competition invites architects and interior designers to submit projects showcasing the expansive use of Italian tile and a keen understanding of the material's practical, aesthetic, and sustainable qualities. Eligible projects include new construction, renovations, or architectural restorations completed between January 2021 and March 2026, and must feature Italian ceramic or porcelain tile produced and marketed by companies licensed to use the Ceramics of Italy trademark. Winners will be notified in July 2026 and publicly announced during a VIP awards ceremony at Cersaie 2026 in Bologna, Italy. The distinguished international jury evaluates projects based on overall design, degree to which Italian tile enhances the setting, amount of Ceramics of Italy member tile used, and sustainable attributes.
