Core Introduction

The iF DESIGN TALENT AWARD 2027 marks the award's 25th anniversary. As one of the world's most influential design competitions for young talent, it draws around 7,000 entries each year from more than 80 countries and regions. It invites students and recent graduates worldwide to submit innovative design concepts aimed at creating a better future and addressing social, environmental, and economic challenges, with all entries required to contribute to the UN Sustainable Development Goals. Judging takes place in two stages: in March 2027 an international expert jury evaluates all submissions online against five criteria — whether the work solves a relevant problem, reflects or promotes high ethical standards, strengthens community bonds, creates a positive experience, and is economically viable — with the top 300 entries advancing; on April 23, 2027, the final jury in Berlin selects the winners and determines prize distribution. The anniversary highlight is the grand awards ceremony in New York in June 2027, offering young designers an exceptional international stage and a springboard for their global careers.
