Core Introduction

The 2nd Aion Digital Art Prize is an international digital and media art competition organized by Aion Laboratory (a division of Japan-based Ise-Shima Art Company). It invites artists worldwide to submit artistic works created with digital media and technology, encouraging both individual and collaborative creations that explore the expressive possibilities of digital media. The competition accepts computer art, electronic art, digital installations, interactive systems, multimedia, video art, animation, sound art, music, AR, VR, and other new media practices, with file formats covering text, images, video, audio, and ZIP archives. Judging is conducted by Aion Laboratory members, assessing originality, individuality, new possibilities for digital art, and the technical ability to realize those ideas (a juror cannot judge an entry by someone closely connected to them, including a student or relative). AI-assisted works are permitted, provided the applicant clearly explains how AI was used in the application form; works made solely by AI are not accepted. Multiple entries per artist are welcome, and previously exhibited or awarded works are also eligible. Works must be uploaded to a file-hosting or media-sharing service such as Google Drive, Dropbox, SoundCloud, YouTube, Youku, or Vimeo, then submitted with a link and work description through the Ise-Shima Art Company form. The Grand Prize winner receives JPY 50,000 and a printed certificate; up to 35 additional works receive an Aion Digital Art Prize certificate.
