Competition Category

The competition is divided into two main streams :

• Traditional Prize: For a commercially produced and distributed photobook .
• Independent Prize: For an independently published or self-produced photobook .

Additionally, submissions must be entered into one of eleven format categories: Exhibition Catalogue, First, Intersectional, Limited Edition, Multi Artist / Multi Publisher, Other, Proposal / Prototype, Reissue, Self-Published / Handmade, Single Artist / Single Publisher, or Zine .

Eligibility

Photographers, editors, curators, and publishers .

• Projects must have been created between March 2023 and September 2025 .

Entry Fee

Paid .

• Traditional: $55 for the first submission .
• Independent: $35 for the first submission .
• A 20% discount is available on additional submissions of the same book .

Prizes/Awards

• Traditional Prize: $3,000 cash .
• Independent Prize: $2,000 cash .
• Group Exhibition: All selected finalists will exhibit at Picto in New York City .
• Winners also receive trophies and global exposure through Lucie Foundation channels .

Core Introduction

The Lucie Photo Book Prize is a juried competition presented by the Lucie Foundation that celebrates innovation in photobook production . Open to visual storytellers worldwide, entries are judged by a global panel of editors, curators, and art directors on originality, technical excellence, and impact.
